Becs & Mike | Auckland Wedding Photography | Waiheke Island

There is no question that Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf is a stunning location for a wedding.  Similarly the beautiful venue of Mudbrick Restaurant and Vineyard is a perfect place for a ceremony & reception.

However...

Both of these beautiful places were just mere backdrops to the gorgeous couple Mike and Becs.

The bride's dress was exquisite.. made by Felicitys Bridal, Becs saw it in a bridal magazine and fell in love...and you can see why!  With intricate beading and detail on the bodice and delicate, ever so pretty gathered flowers forming the dress, this was the perfect gown for Becs.  With her hair and make-up done beautifully by Seb Makeup and Angela Renee, and just glowing with excitement, Becs could have just walked out of the pages of any bridal magazine.  A picture of timeless beauty and elegance.

In perfect keeping with his fabulous bride, Mike and his groomsmen wore classic morning suits and as a gift Mike gave each of his groomsmen specially chosen cuff links. The bridesmaids wore pretty pink, full length dresses, soft and feminine with gathered detailing on the bodice.

Becs and Mike are both in the Air Force, so as a special part of the ceremony their fellow servicemen and friends formed a Guard of Honour in full military dress, complete with medals and swords.  At the announcement of the newly married couple, swords were raised to form an archway for Mike and Becs to walk through, and be met with congratulations from family and friends.

Mike and Becs weren't able to bring their cute wee dog Bella to the wedding, but she made an appearance on their most fantastic wedding cake.  Made by Kelly from House of Cakes, the cake was stunning, featuring a handmade bride and groom and a little Bella a few tiers down.  With pretty pink stripes and spots, it was in perfect keeping with the sweets table boasting a tasty selection of pink candies and lollies.

Everyone dined in style as plated works of perfection were served - almost too pretty to eat, well almost.  Cobble stones, rustic wooden ceiling, fairy lights, everything at the reception was gorgeous.

As the sun lowered in the sky, the panoramic view overlooking Auckland City and Rangitoto Island became the most magnificent sunset.  This was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful couple and the start of their married life together.
